RE: class a decision

If I was doing it again, Tiffin would again be the only name on my short list. Have had 150% everytime I have called their TechSupport and Service in RedBay.

RE: GGGGGRRRRRRR!!!! *^$%!@%& New holding tank valve

I found on mine that if I left the valve in place about 1/2 inch and slid the new one in it would clear and I didn't have to hold them apart while trying to put new one in. If you can somehow get your old grey water valve in place enought to hold the gap open, I believe that will work for you. Good luck

RE: plug wires comming off

You should be putting the di-electric lube on your plug boots prior to pushing on the plug. If you are putting your wires on (dry)without it will be next to impossible to get them off without destroying the wire and you could possibly have pressure in the boot and it will feel like it clicked on the plug, but then pop off because of the pressure in the boot. I recently put the Taylor EV50 wires on with new plugs and used the di-electric lube and have no problems like you are having. I also used the heat boots in place of the metal tubes on mine and so far so good.

RE: Genset Autostart

The Onan EC30 has a delay feature that does not put a load on the generator such as the AC request. The EC30 gets the AC request, starts the Generator and I believe it is 30sec, the AC compressor will kick on. Same on shutdown, once the AC request is satisfied, AC shuts off and shortly thereafter the EC30 will shut down the generator. I bought the EC30 and wiring harness for my coach, then I found my Tripp-Lite had the auto start feature and just had to make the "user supplied cable" and while I don't have the need for AC requests it will start the generator at 11.6volts and shutdown at 14.1 so anybody need a new EC30 with harness for Gas Onan, let me know.

RE: P30 Transmisson oil lines

On an 87 Honey which should be the same you have the trans cooler(metal) lines from the transmission to the radiator cooler. You should have a splice or fitting going to your trans cooler which is probably an add on Hayden or similar and you can use a rubber hose as long as it is rated for transmission fluid to work in the heat and oil. Don't use regular fuel line. You can find the 3/8" ID rubber hose at any NAPA, Autozone. Make sure you purchase new clamps they are cheap and well worth it. Don't use the spring type. Hope this helps.

RE: Beaudry RV in Tucson AZ - Complaint

Could not disagree more with the above post from JALLEN4. The OP said "I specifically stated to her not to do anything that was not covered by warranty. Sounds clear enough." At the VERY least, the service manager should have contacted to inform that there would be a charge BEFORE doing any troubleshooting or diagnostics. I don't see how much clearer the OP could have been on his instructions to the service writer. Seems fairly simple to understand that he only wanted "covered under warranty" work done. This should have been confirmed up front at the time the service writer went through his list.

RE: Duct tape residue?? Cleaning it off.

Heck yeah, but wipe it off with multi grain for the added grit, then you can have lunch after or at the same time.

RE: Solenoid on top of alternator - what is that?

On my 84 P30, the solenoid on the alternator bracket was the isolator between the house and chassis batteries. It looks like the older Ford type start solenoids.

RE: RV MASK PROTECTION

I have the 3M clear shield on my coach and it is holding up very well. It would cost around $1,200 from what I was told if I ever replaced it. I would want this type of protection long before a vinyl "bra" or plexiglas bolted on the front end. You can find out more at 3M Website Just make sure that you do have a certified 3M installer perform the work. It is tricky to get right and smooth to look good. It will most likely be put on in 3 sections (top/middle/bottom) so that partial replacement can be done if/when needed to due rocks etc. Also, never ever use a buffer on it.

RE: Norcold 1200 door alarm

Norcold has a kit for about 12 dollars that you can buy that has new nylon washers and other small parts. It is the "door sag repair kit" that can be ordered. I don't have the part number handy but if you want it, let me know and I will post it when I get home. I bought it to fix the latches not locking all the way and it worked for that problem.

RE: Installing Banks Exhaust this weekend myself, any advice?

I didn't gather that you also bought the torque tubes, if you did, Banks recommends anti-seize on the header bolts. I would NOT use loctite red/blue on the header bolts. Agree to definitely discon the battery. Be sure you utilize the heat shields it comes with on both the muffler and tail pipe. On my torque tubes I went with Grade 8 stainless hex head with stainless washers. Not sure why you would want to go any softer because heat will want to seize them after time and you definitely do not want to twist one off in the head. I was very happy with the full banks kit. Cooler, more torque. Didn't notice hardly anything on gas mileage but it pulled stronger on hills.

RE: How do you get air into your inside tires?

Scott, They will run you abut $65.00 per side (mine did) but they also had the additional valve on each line to allow me to continue using the pressure pros. I don't know if this adds to the cost but I bet this is close regardless. I bought mine from Donely Enterprises. You can find his information on the locate a dealer link under KS(Kansas). I was pointed in his direction because he had the type of crossfires I wanted for the pressure pros but other dealers (maybe even local to you) can get them.

RE: How do you get air into your inside tires?

Crossfires IMO are the only way to go. I tried many different extenders etc and after putting these on, nothing else like them. Single fill ability for both wheels keeps them equalized, which is a very good thing. If one blows, the main valve shuts air off automatically. I also like the fact that on the crossfires that I bought, I can still utilize my pressure pro sensors to monitor each tire independently.

RE: Washing your motorhome.

baby oil let your tires expands and contract with the weather. WHAT!!! Putting baby oil on your tires is absolutely BAD advice. If you do any research on tire shine applications and products you will read that ANY petroleum distallate products are TABOO. There are many different brands of tire shine/dressings on the market that do not contain any petroleum distallate additives and those are the ones you want to use. Using dishwashing detergent is also a big NO. Stick with the actual car wash detergents that are made for that purpose and the sky won't fall and your arm won't get tired from having to wax because you used a detergent that was meant to clean up pork chops and ranch dressing.

RE: Class A Motorhome Steering Problems

Bell Cranks, Airbags, stabilizer bar bushings and steering stabilizer all need to be checked and replaced as needed. Control arm bushings on a P30 can also cause your wandering. Get all of these checked out and replace any that are worn etc. Once that is done, get an alignment done by a shop that knows how to align the P30 chassis. Agree with the comment of "don't believe all the doom and gloom". While the P30 chassis is a "bread truck" chassis, my old 84-P30 drove straight and I never minded big rigs passing me. I have yet to see nor want to see a 34' Porsche going 90 MPH!!! Oh sorry, that was a Pace Arrow.

RE: Warning about RV Supplies from eBay seller Holiday Kamper

The OP did state there was not a phone number to contact the seller, I also would have given negative feedback if product recieved was not as shown/displayed on the ebay site and had no other way to contact seller. Why should it be the buyer responsibility to VERIFY what the seller is selling. If the seller displays pictures and descriptions and what is recieved is different, that is plain deception and is one of the main reasons I think that the ebay rules have changed. No, I don't think the OP did anything wrong with the negative feedback. The seller did NOT deliver what was shown and expected, AND left the buyer with no way to contact them to avoid a negative feedback. Ebay is at the very bottom of places that I will use to get things because of all of the scams that abound there. Don't get me wrong, I have purchased from Ebay in the past and have had some great experiences, but it is definitely not my first choice ever.
